Ancient Thera. The island that many believe to be the lost Atlantis, the enchanted land at the end of the Aegean Sea that once became the witness of the largest and most devastating natural catastrophe that resulted in one of the most spectacular natural beauty mankind has ever recorded.

There are various archaeological sites on the island, which vary from the prehistoric times to classic antiquity. These are the sites of Akrotiri - the site which attracted the attention of the Greek archaeologist Marinatos who dedicated a big part of his career into proving that this site is Atlantis- Ancient Thera, a recent excavation of a temple in Kamari (which is not yet ready for visitors) and Ancient Eleusina
